- #THE CONCEPT OF SHAREWARE#
-
- The concept of Shareware is simple. With commercial software you
- have to pay for the product before you can try it. If, having
- tried it, you don't like it, you almost certainly wont get your
- money back and most of the price you have paid will have been to
- cover the cost of packaging, advertising and marketing the
- product to you.
-
- With Shareware you are supplied with a fully working copy of the
- software "On approval". If you obtained your copy from a disk
- vendor then you will have paid a small fee to have the disc
- duplicated and mailed to you. This is to cover his
- administration costs and none of it is paid over to the programs
- author.
-
- Shareware products are not inferior to commercial products. In
- many cases the reverse is true. You are simply allowed to copy
- the programs and give them to friends on the understanding that
- they should register their use if they find them useful and
- continue to use them.
-
- Easy Word is not the most comprehensive word processor in the
- world but it is without doubt the simplest to use and is
- probably the best value for money. If you decide to use it then
- please be as fair with the author as he has been with you and
- pay your licence fee. There really is no difference between
- using unregistered shareware and keeping any other form of
- product supplied "On approval" without paying for it.
-
- If you do make copies for friends then please include this
- document, the licence document, the feedback document and the
- support statement. Better still - make them a disc copy of the
- original distribution disc.
-
- Finally - Please mail the feedback document direct to the author
